Kristina Shtegman
Kristina Shtegman began her musical education at the age of five and the following year gave her first public performance.
From 1970 until 1990 Kristina Shtegman studied at the St. Petersburg Conservatory’s Special Music School under professor
Marina Wolf majoring in piano solo, chamber music, accompaniment. She continued her studies under E. Bassanov and
A. Sandler at the St-Petersburg States Conservatory. Graduated as a piano soloist, ensemblist, accompanist and piano pedagogue
(1990-1995).
Subsequently she became a student of the outstanding pianist of the 20-th century, professor of Moscow Conservatory, Viktor Merzhanov,
an artist whose
performance and researches popularized Rachmaninov`s music.
centers including St. Petersburg Philharmony, St. Petersburg Conservatory, Oktyabrsky Hall, Sheremetev Palace, Peterhoff Palace,
Hermitage Theatre, the Bolshoi
Theatre (Moscow), Rachmaninov Hall and Tschaykovsky Hall of the Moscow
State Conservatory.
She also debuted many contemporary pieces at Sergey Oskolkov and Friends and the White Nights Starts festivals, and regularly
performed at
quite a number of major music events hosted both in Russia and Europe.
Kristina Shtegman regularly performed
with renowned soloists from St. Petersburg and Moscow.
artistic relationship with the soloist of St. Petersburg Philharmony Yury Semenov as a partner to feature chamber music masterpieces.
This partnership resulted in the release of a CD for Melodiya with Russian music for cello and piano, Sonatas for cello and piano by
Gretchaninov, Tscherepnin and
Rubinstein, debuted in 1998 by Y. Semenov and K. Stegman.

Kristina Shtegman´s repertoire is extensive and includes pieces by J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Chopin, Schubert, Schumann,
Stravinsky, Debussy,
Rachmaninov, and Shostakovich.
